How often should you book a professional cleaning?

This is the most common question we get from new clients in Brooklyn. The honest answer is that it depends on your apartment, your routine, and what bothers you most when the place starts looking lived-in. Here’s how we usually walk people through it.
Weekly
Weekly is the right call when there are kids, pets, or a heavily used kitchen. Also for couples where both adults work long hours and there’s no real bandwidth for keeping up midweek. In Brooklyn, that covers a lot of Park Slope families, professional couples in Williamsburg, and most brownstones with multiple floors of shared common space.
With weekly service, the kitchen and bathrooms stay sanitary, dust never settles, and the place looks ready for visitors any day. The trade-off is the cost adds up. Most of our Brooklyn weekly clients want to stop thinking about it more than they want to save the money.
Biweekly
Biweekly is the most common choice for one-person households, couples without kids, or apartments under 1,000 square feet. It catches enough that things don’t snowball, but spaces out the cost. Most of our Astoria walkup clients and Williamsburg one-bedrooms run on biweekly.
Monthly
Monthly works if you keep up with surface cleaning yourself and just want help with the deeper stuff: scrubbing the kitchen properly, the bathroom tile, mopping all the floors, dusting the surfaces you skip on your own. Not a great fit if you have kids or pets. A month is too long between cleans in those cases, and the deep work piles up.
One-time
Plenty of clients book us for one-time cleans without committing to anything recurring. Before guests arrive for the holidays. After a big party. Before or after a move. Quarterly resets for people who otherwise keep their place tidy themselves.
If you’re not sure where to start, one-time is the right call. We can talk about whether something recurring makes sense after you’ve seen how we work.
The honest answer
Most clients overestimate what they need at first and downshift after a few months. Some underestimate and call us back asking for weekly after their biweekly trial. Either is fine. The point is to find a rhythm where you stop thinking about cleaning, not to lock yourself into the most expensive option upfront.
